During my research some things I found surprising was that many immigrants are willing to sacrifice their time and work for the sake of making a living. This is important for contributing to our economy due to the fact that no one wants to them. Immigrants take on laborious roles in agriculture, construction and etc. They also affect the professional workforce in contributing Silicon Valley and the technological field. The process allowed me to appreciate immigrants and their work.

PW; What do you think when you hear "proofreading"? What do you proofread. When I proofread, I check my mistakes and mark out the possible things that I can add to or improve upon. I read aloud to make sure my sentences make sense and clear. I also check through the whole thing a bunch of times.

Usually when I interview someone, I try to get to know them first before asking about the serious and personal questions. A casual conversation to start off before going to the serious topics. I am not nervous when it comes to one on one interviews because it allows me to understand the person more. I asked open and closed questions in the interview about their views and occupation.

Take a moment to remember MLK's impact on you. Thinking of your own issue, what would "Leadership" look like in that context? MLK spoke in a confident yet eloquent way towards the audience. His speech was very powerful and conveyed the message across the nation. He advocated for civil rights in front of the capital. MLK has to do with my topic because civil rights has to do with immigration.

Annotation Blog #13: They Say/I Say Ch.4-7 (4/4/2018)

SUMMARY Chapter 4: Chapter is more about the I say rather than the They say. We use our thoughts to convey the message as the author. There are three ways to respond as the writer which the three were disagree, agree and disagree and agree simultaneously. Arguments can be used from your point of view or experience and not all about facts. Don't be overly complex to the reader.  QUOTES "But do be aware that whenever you agree with someone else's view, you are likely disagreeing with someone else's." "Do be aware that when you represent objections successfully, you still need to be able to answer those objections persuasively." (87) Same as quote one, use your arguments to persuade the reader. "Like disagreeing, agreeing is less simple than it may appear." (61) The writer must find numerous ways to back up their evidence. Question How do...

Research check in: How did your research, reading and article annotation go? What are your next steps if you did not final 3-5 good sources? As for my research, I found 2 good sources on Google Scholar that talked about how Immigrants benefit America and another one on the origin of immigrants - the who and whats. I learned about the professionalism in the fields that vital for America's growth. Some of the research was hard to find since some of the articles doesn't talk about immigrants in general but rather in a split up way such as "Chinese immigrants or Irish immigrants". The next few steps is looking for a different keywords that led me towards better articles.
