8 - 10 pages of the book and predictions
The start of the book consisted of the main character doing his/her daily morning routine. He felt angry and in disbelief of the newspaper ad, "TEACH seeks pupil. Must have an earnest desire to save the world. Apply in person." The main character recalled a moment in the past when he wanted to find a teacher and to save the world. But he believed it was childish and bewildered on saving the world. He then wanted to see if it was scam or a fake so he decided to go. Continuing on, he arrives in a office building where he is met up with this person and a gorilla.

Annotations? (Brought the book)
I plan to write on a journal the interesting events in the book and highlight the confusing parts/vocabulary. I then analyze why it happened and foreshadow for future events. I also put down character details if they have any.

Predictions
I predict that the main character is set into a mission to save the world with the gorilla. The other person who sets him into a journey in fighting evil forces. The mc and the gorilla team up and communicate with each other.

    Does your prediction mean you expect the gorilla to roam around freely with the man outside?

    I agree with the prediction of the mission to save the world with the gorilla and the mysterious man will might be the mentor for the main character.

Idea Draft of Essay 1

How do immigrants feel about blending in with American culture rather than holding on their own culture and reviving it with their new community? Immigrants that move to the U.S usually have to fit into society by putting aside their culture. They believe that American food, clothes and overall culture is far superior than where they came from. They are embarrassed when their relatives from their county and speak their language. The topic relates to sustainability because many immigrants are confused with their identity as an "American" and an immigrant. How do you change your way of talking in different situations? Talking with friends is more causal and in a comfortable setting. When interviewing, the person must speak in a respectable and show a way that the other person can understand. Also changing your tone enables for the interviewee to clearly understand the questions asked. The person must also slow down, breathe and watch your posture when talking. Being at home also always me to talk more freely and casually.
