1. Main points

  • Think, write, read, and do reach like an academic - Use words that aren't used daily
  • Argument - To persuade the reader by changing people's minds and behavior
  • Use reasoning and insights
  • Critical thinking - Uses the brain to think more into the subject
  • Analysis - Understanding the reason of the topic
  • Inquiries - Asking what something is about
    • Observation - Challenges beliefs and values
    • Asking questions - Observing something leads into wanting to understand them
2. Quotes with response
"Every piece of academic writing begins with a question about the way works, and the best questions lead you to rich, complex insights that others can learn from and build on."
I find this quote interesting because I've never been the type of person who questions but looks for answers. It made me realize that questioning leads into finding those answers. \

"As you can see, analysis involves more than simply disassembling or dissecting something."
I've believed in the same thing and never realized to question and question till I found my answer.

" Academics strive to go beyond what is quick, obvious, and general."
I agree with this statement and how much more in depth we need to go into a subject.

What kind of questions or alternatives can we make in order to fully understand our beliefs and values?
